A year or so ago I decided to write my first novel, but seeing as I had never taken on such a large project before I felt as if I needed to practice with a short story first to get used to the craft. It all started with a simple idea: A lone astronaut, light years away from Earth on a mission to find a habitable planet, but with a little twist ending I had planned from the beginning. The twist ending is what actually sparked the whole idea. As I started to write, the story just kept growing. So I'm sorry about that.
